It's not going to be Easy. But It's Okay.

Now when Jesus saw a crowd around him,  he gave orders to go over to the other side.  And a scribe came up and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."  And Jesus said to him,  "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."    Another of the disciples said to him, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father."  And Jesus said to him,  "Follow me, and leave  the dead to bury their own dead." Matthew 8:18-22

What I love about this challenging passage is what happens to the disciples who follow Jesus.

The disciples follow Jesus into the boat.  Actually, He ordered them to go to the other side of the lake.
the boat encounters a storm so bad that trained experienced fisherman believe they are about to drown.

The disciples must have thought, I knew it was hard to follow Jesus, but I didn't expect this hard!  Death?  And so soon?

Yes, it's hard.

No place to lay your head... in some cases.
All other Earthly affections come second... in every case.
And storms await.  Even when Jesus is in your boat.

But it's okay.
Why?  Because when Jesus is in your boat, did doesn't matter what storm your boat is in.

That's awesome.

PRAYER:
Lord, it is in the storms of life that I forget this important truth.  Just like the disciples, I can follow you and then get overwhelmed so easy when it gets difficult.  I pray you help me remember - you are there. You are able to calm the story.  You are good.
