No Son, no Father

It is so easy to gloss over this little verse in 1 John 4:

1 John 4:15 (NIV)  If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.

John makes it clear as it can be.  If you acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God - THEN and ONLY THEN you are saved.  The reality?  God lives in you and you live in God.

He has made it clear in the negative sense before:
1 John 2:23 (NIV) No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

I have met many people in AA or some kind of recovery program.  They like to avoid Jesus.  And the saddest part is, they like to believe in a "higher power" to help them cope with their addiction.  It is no wonder they never get totally set free! Without Jesus you are diluting yourself in false spirituality.

Jesus said, "No one comes to the Father except by me."

How many people in the church need to stop shying away from this glorious truth.
How many preachers must preach powerfully and unapologetically that only in Christ is freedom and grace.
How many "believers in God" are in desperate need to meet Jesus and finally and fully KNOW GOD.

How much true freedom awaits the people who think they know God but remain stuck in sin.
To know God has but one door... the Lord Jesus Christ.  The entire Bible before Him told us what He would be like, the entire Bible after Him interprets Him and looks forward to seeing Him.  Jesus is the way, the truth, the life.

PRAYER:
Jesus, I'm so happy to be known by you and know you.  Yet so often I am tempted to avoid you in conversations with people.  Forgive me and never let me deny for one second that you are MY LORD, MY GOD, MY SAVIOR.
