Salvation is a BIG Deal
Peter gives us one of the best pictures of the Work of God in salvation I think in the whole Bible. It's a beautiful detailing of te Gift we have through Faith in Christ - the crowning of God's plan from the beginning...
1 Peter 1:10–12 (ESV) Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, 11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. 12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

First, think about what this is saying. Prophets searched this out and found out they were simply pointing to Christ for our good! So that we could look at their lives and see Christ revealed in their writings and witness. How amazing.
Second, consider the act of the Holy Spirit is announcing this Gospel through preaching. He has come to empower the witness of the revelation of Jesus Christ. That's how important the preaching of the Gospel is.
Third, Angels would love to have in on this.
If that doesn't make your salvation seem significant, I don't know what will. We are blessed before all. Our hope in Christ is not just a get out of hell free card. It is the culmination of God's working and revealing from before the ages began. We have come to know God's ways through God's actions. And we are recipients of a marvelous gift from God.
So let us not take it lightly. Let us do what Peter first said,
1 Peter 1:8–9 (ESV) Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Let us rejoice with joy. Let us not be quiet and reserved. Let us glorify our Father in heaven for what He has accomplished in us and for us in Christ. And then let us remember, that like the prophets before us, we have a purpose for us - to point people back to the Risen Christ.
PRAYER:
Father, thank you for such a great salvation. I am sorry for taking it so lightly so often. I rejoice in the Grace I have found in you. Amen.
