Filled With the Spirit To Create
When you think about it, the first act of the Spirit in accordance with the Word of God is to create! The universe and all that makes Earth wonderfully unique was created as the Spirit hovered over the surface of the deep. Now the temple needs to be wonderfully unique for the presence of God to dwell with man. And God fills a man with the Spirit to bring it to pass.
Exodus 31:1–5 (ESV) The Lord said to Moses, 2 “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, 4 to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, 5 in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft.
When you think of being filled with the Spirit of God, what comes to mind? I was raised in a church where one word was the answer: tongues. I believe in tongues. I speak in tongues. I am thankful for the gift of tongues. But not every Christian I have met speaks in other tongues. However, we see here that God fills a man with the Spirit to do creative artistic designs and to work in every craft! What a wonderfully diverse Spirit of God we have through Christ our Lord! The Spirit makes us able. The Spirit makes us creative and skilled. The Holy Spirit is not limited to one type of expression for the purposes of God in men's lives. The Holy Spirit is that which brings about newness of life in our hearts and newness of expression through our hands.
Notice that God also speaks of having called Bezalel by name. That means God set him apart for this work in the power of the Sprit. God knows who goes where in His work. You are not just here to wander Earth. You have an assignment just like Bezalel did. It may not be for what Bezalel did, but it is known by your Father in heaven. He has CALLED you by name to do what He has filled you with His creative Spirit to do!
Be filled with the Spirit and get to work!
Finally, notice God adds to Bezalel's team:
Exodus 31:6 (ESV) And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.
2 Timothy 4:11 (ESV) Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is very useful to me for ministry.

God does not wish us to work alone. Jesus formed a group of 12 with an inner circle of three. He then sent out the 72 by twos (Luke 10:1). Peter and John went to pray in Acts 3. Saul and Barnabus were sent out together at the direction of the Holy Spirit in Acts 13.
At the end of his life, Paul specifically mentions who is with him and longs for Timothy to join him... and bring an old friend.
2 Timothy 4:11 (ESV) Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is very useful to me for ministry.
Who is with you? The ministry of Jesus is not for one, it is always set for two! God believes in community participation in any creative Spirit-filled endeavor because God Himself is a community - THREE in ONE.
The question we need to ask ourselves are theses:
Am I filled with the Spirit?
What am I filled to do?
Who am I taking with me in this work?
Christianity is not dead, dried up religious practice of endless meaningless ritual. It is to partner with God and others in a world-changing creative enterprise to the glory of His Name and the ultimate pleasure of our very souls.
