Your Prayers Are Precious to Jesus

What do you put in your finest dish or platter? For whom do you bring out the fine china? The answer will tell you what you value and who you value. The 5th chapter of Recelation takes us to the Throne room of heaven to see Jesus and the 24 elders around the Throne of God. In the midst of these 24 elders and the power and prestige of God himself, this is what it says:

Revelation 5:8-10 (ESV) And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”

Did you see what was in the Golden bowls before the thorn of God? The prayers of His people. 

Your prayers reach Him.

More importantly, your prayers are value to Him.

What a grand thought! God not only hears our prayers,He keeps our prayers in the fine china of heaven held by the 24 elders in the presence of Jesus. 

What was this saying to first Century Chrisians scattered and persecuted by Rome? It was telling them that no matter what they saw happening, the trouble and dominance of oppression, God was hearing them. And now was no time to stop praying and seeking Him. Eventually those prayers would be answered and Rome would be toppled to embrace Christian faith nationally. 

Do you ever feel like your prayers aren't reaching past your ceiling nevermind to heaven? Don't trust feelings, trust Truth.  And the trust is that no matter what oppressive force may be looming over you, the same prayers that took down the Roman Empire can overthrow whatever the enemy is casting over you at this moment. 

Keep praying, those prayers are reaching heaven, and making a difference. Be steadfast and unmoveable!

PRAYER:

Father I prayer especially for my country, the USA. We are a complacent and materialistic people who need to be woken up from our stupor of silly consumption. We need to wake up and thank you for our blessings. And we need to help those who have so much less. Bring about a mighty revival to true and honorable religion and steadfast committed love for Jesus Christ and His Churh. Amen.
